           Herbert 
            R. Hartel, Jr.: Bio 
             Herbert R. Hartel, Jr. is substitute instructor 
              of art history at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY. He 
              has also taught at Fordham University, Pratt Institute, Baruch College 
              and York College, CUNY. A doctoral candidate in the Ph.D. Program 
              in Art History at the CUNY Graduate Center, he is currently working 
              on his dissertation, which is a monographic study of the New Mexico 
              abstract painter Raymond Jonson. He is a former intern at the Metropolitan 
              Museum of Art.
